Una Foden has revealed that she wants to duet with her winning contestant on the Voice of Ireland, Patrick Donoghue.

In a dramatic finish on Sunday night, Patrick (23) beat fellow Dubliner Emma Humber to win the coveted record deal with Universal Ireland.

"I'm going to be there behind him all the way as well. I'll be giving him all the advice that he needs and I would love to sing with him sometime, I would absolutely love to," she told the Herald.

The Saturdays singer believes Patrick has the voice to become internationally famous.

"I believe he will [be famous]; the world needs to hear his voice. When you've got talent like that, I just can't see it fail," she said.

Patrick, who works in Dunnes Stores, says he plans on using the platform the show has given him to his full advantage.

"I don't believe previous winners have used it as well as they could have," he said.

"I am making a promise that I am going to go out there and I'm going to work hard. I've learnt such an amazing work ethic from Una.

"I just genuinely didn't think it was going to be me who won - I definitely don't think I would have won if I hadn't picked Una," he added.

The Donnycarney native added that he didn't know if he was going to keep his day job.

"Dunnes have been so good to me throughout the show, but it's hard to imagine going back behind a till now," he said.

Meanwhile, Una (33) and her fellow coach Rachel Stevens (37) have enjoyed their time on the Voice so much that they both want to return to the show.

It is not yet confirmed if the popular reality show will return to RTE next year.

"I would definitely come back as a coach next year, I've enjoyed this so much - this is definitely the cherry on top with Patrick winning but the whole experience has been amazing," Una said.

"I've enjoyed the experience of working with everybody on the show," Rachel said.

"I'd love to come back, if I'm asked. I think the Voice is a great platform for finding talent and nurturing it."
