Four-times-married Patsy Kensit says she is still "a hopeless romantic".

The actress and singer, seen recently in Celebrity Big Brother, hopes to fall in love again.

"I'm very happy and despite being part of an extended family, I'm doing my own thing. I'm still a hopeless romantic and believe in love," she told the latest issue of Hello! Magazine.

She underwent a hysterectomy after a cancer scare which brought back memories of her mother, who died when Kensit was 23.

"I don't feel less of a woman because of the hysterectomy. I feel more feminine somehow," said the former Emmerdale star.

"I've always known from what my mum went through that without health you have nothing. When you've faced your own mortality, living life to the full is top of your list.

"I've never been worried about getting older and joke that I've been looking forward to my next decade for the past five years."

Kensit (46), whose former husbands include musicians Jim Kerr and Liam Gallagher, said: "I've been through a tough couple of years and felt I'd been on a treadmill for decades.

"But now that I've regained my health and self-esteem and reclaimed the power over my own life, I'm where I should be. I feel better physically than I did at 20."
