Hopes remain high that the Irish side can make it at least to the semi-finals. After that the unthinkable is always possible.

Tubs certainly has it all to play for in the ratings battle this time out. He got off to a stumbling start, complicated by the fact that his radio programme is also in a battle to be a real hit with listeners.

However, hopefully he'll land some high-profile guests over the next couple of weeks.



Murder mystery

DCI Banks

UTV, 9pm A quadriplegic with horrific injuries has her throat slit. It's indeed a macabre plotline, but it does mean that Annie finally gets to lead her own murder investigation.

Meanwhile, Alan is tied up with a case involving the rape and killing of a teenage girl.



MONEY TALKS

Entrepreneur Of The Year

RTE1, 7.30pm

It's a timely programme for the difficult times we're living in, but the search is on for some proven money makers with big ideas.

This year's nominees come from a diverse range of backgrounds and a number of Irish business people from both at home and abroad are in the frame.
