Dublin rolls out the red carpet as top soap stars jet in for glitzy TVNow Awards

A HOST of big names from the UK will jet into town today, in time to attend tonight's Walkers TVNow Awards ceremony at the Mansion House.

Co-hosts Glenda Gilson and Michael O'Doherty will take to the stage shortly after 7pm, with a performance from Jedward due to kick off the festivities.

The ceremony, now in its fifth year, will conclude with a tribute to the late Gerry Ryan. Members of his family are expected to be on hand to accept an award on his behalf.

Among those who are expected at the bash are cast members from Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street.

The Corrie group, including Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre), is planning a particularly big night in honour of their co-star Bill Roche (Ken Barlow), who is to be presented with this year's TV3 Soap Legend Award on the night.

The TV icon is the last remaining original cast member from the soap, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Among the stars of Irish television who will take to the red carpet are loved-up couple, Ryan Tubridy and Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain, sisters Grainne and Sile Seoige and Bill Cullen and his partner Jackie Lavin.

All the highlights of the Walkers TVNow Awards will be broadcast on TV3 on Monday with a special two-hour show due to be broadcast at 8pm.
