Dad Killian's delight as he beats TV diet target
OPERATION Transformation leader Killian Byrne has beaten his weight loss target three weeks ahead of time, the Herald can reveal.
The Dublin dad said that he had already set himself a new target -- to reach between 15st and 15st 5lb by the end of the year.
When he was selected for the programme, Killian (39) was 19st 4.5lb for a 5ft 10ins build and tonight's show will reveal that he now weighs considerably less than his 17st 6lb target.
"The fact that I have broken my target after five weeks instead of three doesn't mean that I will stop there," Killian told the Herald. "It's easy for me to lose a lot of weight when I'm coming from being so heavy.
"I'm still medically obese and for that reason, I need to lose more and I'll keep things going even when the show has ended even though it won't be at the same pace.
"For the minute, I'm focusing on the 5km run -- it's my next physical target -- but by the end of the year, I want to have lost around 4st or more."
Despite the strict meal plans he had to follow, Killian insisted that he never felt hungry.
He added that his wife Maureen and their children Keith (6) and Katie (4) had been happy to go along with Dr Eva Orsmond's menus.
