Colm and Lucy take over Gerry's 2fm slot
DJ Colm Hayes and presenter Lucy Kennedy will be taking over the late Gerry Ryan's slot on morning radio for the next four weeks.
The Colm And Lucy Show will begin on Monday on 2fm and will be produced by Ryan's production team, according to RTE.
It will feature many of the same segments from The Gerry Ryan Show, including the skit Nob Nation with Oliver Callan, and some favourite moments from Gerry's years will also be broadcast.
With the new show set to run for a month, within that period RTE will make an announcement regarding the long-term future of the 9am to noon weekday slot.
John McMahon, head of 2fm, said that every effort would be made to continue the traditions set over the broadcaster's 22 years.
"To Gerry's listeners, I would like to say, Gerry has not been forgotten," he said in a statement.
"This is a new show but we will continue our commitments to many of the items Gerry's listeners loved," he said.
Lucy Kennedy said: "I'm honoured to be asked and look forward to speaking with Gerry's listeners in the coming weeks."
And Colm Hayes, of Colm and Jim-Jim, added: "It's both an honour and a privilege to be asked to assist in the slot for the next few weeks.
"Lucy and I know we can't fill the great man's shoes, but we hope to brighten the tough mornings ahead."
Meanwhile, RTE confirmed that one final Ryan Confidential, the George Hook episode, will be aired on May 20.
