Christmas is actually a really nice time to be on maternity leave because I'll be able to fill up the weeks with lots of festive things to do. I'm not going to push myself too much but I still have a few jobs that I'd like to get done every day.
Everyone has been asking me about what I'm going to do on Christmas Day but I'm due before then so I'm not really making any plans.
I know about 75pc of first-time mums go a week over so I've kind of said to everyone that if I want to stay in bed and eat a selection box then that's what I'll do.
I might not feel like leaving the house or calling around to all the relatives, but everyone has been so understanding of that.
It's lovely being able to play the pregnancy card because no one is being demanding of you and you don't have to make sure you have a ton of presents for everyone.
My family and friends are all just saying to me to do whatever feels right so I'll just take the festive season as it comes.
Also, who knows, I could have a new bundle of joy by then or that might be my Christmas present on the day itself so I'll just have to wait and see.
