UTV, 9pm The mood is darker than usual as Banks continues to follow the trail of a murderer. He is convinced a serial killer is on the loose and is desperate to try to snare the maniac before he strikes again.

The investigation is really thrown into disarray, however, when it emerges his pushy underling, Annie, has bedded star witness Mark Kearne.

Channel 4, 10.30pm The irrepressible Jimmy Carr is back hosting this topical comedy panel show. Braving the ridicule of team captains Sean Lock and Jon Richardson are British boxing supremo Amir Khan and The IT Crowd's Richard Ayoade. Each team is determined to fool the other side into mistaking fact for fiction.
