RTE1, 8.30pm Despite being born with spina bifida Wexford-born Edel Reck (inset, below) has spent the past two years undergoing various operations on her legs in the hope of one day fulfilling her dream of mountain-biking in the Colorado Rockies.

The current Mr World, Kamal Ibrahim, saddles up to help her along the way.

Undercover Boss: USA Channel 4, 10pm Mark Mallory, the first directly elected African-American mayor of Cincinnati, must decide where the axe will fall as the economic downturn eats into his spending budget. It's a tale for our times when the politician goes undercover; he is shocked to see at first hand the effects of cutbacks on health, education and social welfare.

Torchwood: Miracle Day

BBC1, 9pm The action fast-forwards two months following the events of last week and as the Three Families plunge into recession the Torchwood team find themselves deflated and powerless.

They're running out of options so their only way out is to strike a deal with the devil.

Catherine's Family Kitchen

RTE1, 8.30pm Food writer Catherine Fulvio has some big ideas on how to make the weekend more of a family affair with some slap-up meals. There's Thai-style fish cakes with spicy sesame sauce followed by roast beef. On the side is roasted sweet potatoes and stir-fry green beans.
