Becky turns into 50s vamp as Street stars in glamour shoot
Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly brings old-school glamour to the cobbles as she is transformed into a 50s screen vamp.
She and other Weatherfield favourites are given a movie-style makeover for the moody black and white shots, reminiscent of vintage Hollywood photoshoots.
The cast portraits -- taken by ITV photographer Rob Evans -- are to feature in a new exhibition in Manchester. Along with Kelly, who plays gobby barmaid Becky McDonald, Michael Le Vell and Alan Halsall -- better known as Kevin Webster and Tyrone Dobbs -- ditched their overalls to pose in suits.
The pictures will be displayed at Manchester gallery Generation Pop before they are sold at a silent auction, with the proceeds going to Coronation Street's 50th anniversary appeal.
Evans, who has photographed for the soap for three years, said: "The cast work really hard creating the characters we all know and love on screen, yet they are so rarely seen as themselves.
"However, the 50th anniversary year gave me the chance to create this exhibition, the concept of which is to portray the actors I've come to know."
