Avila gets lesson in cooking from RTE star Rachel

HER sister Roz Lipsett is well known as one of the country's top models and now it seems socialite Avila Lipsett wants in on the fame act.

The Herald can reveal how Rathgar beauty Avila - who at 28 is three years older than her catwalk queen sister - is set to make an appearance on RTE's brand new cooking series Rachel Allen's Dinner Parties.

Viewers of next week's show, which airs on Thursday night on RTE 2, will see Rachel jet to Avila's adopted home of London in order to help her spice up her dinner party.

The former DJ will have her work cut out for her as Rachel gives her a lesson in how to prepare a scrumptious meal. Among the mouth-watering new dishes those at home will see Avila learn to cook is a starter of sesame and mint chickpea pancakes.

The Dublin beauty will then prepare a healthy main course of a roasted vegetable coconut curry.

"It's going to be an interesting episode with all the usual ups and downs and stresses of putting together a dinner party of that nature," said a show source.

"She and Rachel actually got on very well and appeared to have enjoyed each other's company as they prepared the food," they added. The episode will also feature interior designer Hannah Sandling.
