The Insider: The Valleys in Dublin

A FEW drinks in a city centre nightclub and an appearance on a cringeworthy reality TV show – what more could you want on a Tuesday night?

Dublin's mid-week partygoers and fans of MTV have a chance to get in on the act when the cast and crew of reality TV series The Valley touch down in Dublin tonight. Scenes for the third series of the show, which hit our screens early next year, will be filmed in Wicklow Street's Madison Nightclub. The party kicks off at 10.30pm.

ONE of Dublin's hippest hotels is offering a cheery "Guten tag" to the Christmas season. Dishes from the Christkindlesmarkt German food market will be served to guests next Tuesday when the Gibson's German-themed seasonal festivities kick-off. The courtyard will be transformed into a winter wonderland where guests will get into the spirit of the traditional German Christmas market while enjoying delicacies such as smoked kassler pork ribs and Bavarian marinated spit-roast hog.

Charity fundraising has never been so rewarding. On Thursday, Dublin's Morgan Hotel will let loose with the hairspray and bronzer as top make-up artists Paula Callan and Derrick Carberry get their beauty kits out for a good cause. CallanBerry Academy will host a day of hair and make-up makeovers in aid of Ovacare and Breast Cancer Ireland from 10am to 7pm. The CallanBerry crew will look after everything from smoky eyes to hot red lips, while a team from Toni and Guy will make customers blow-dry perfect.

SHE'S a firm favourite among celebrities, including Marina and the Diamonds, so it's no wonder that socialites flocked to the launch of Chupi Sweetman-Pell's new winter jewellery collection in the Dylan Hotel. The funky range is full of delicate pieces in sparkling gold and precious gems inspired by "wild and natural things". The young designer was in good company, with Emily O'Donnell, Avila Lipsett, Emma O'Farrell and illustrator Carol Mahon in attendance.

Manchester United's Daniel Welbeck enjoyed the hospitality at Everleigh Garden on Friday night. Welbeck is injured and was unable to play for England when they were beaten 2-0 by Chile in a friendly that night.
