www IRISH singer Jack L wowed audiences in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Saturday night when he played his first ever gig at the city-centre venue.

Jack's Duets With Special Guests played to a sold-out crowd.

Jack is one of the countless Irish acts lined up for this summer's Westport Festival of Music & Food, which will see two days of music from top acts including Imelda May, Sharon Corr and Martha Wainwright. It is a busy time for the musician, who will embark on a tour of Germany and Europe over the next few months.

• THEATRE Upstairs in Lanigan's Pub in Dublin's city centre was rocking last night as a special fundraising event took place for the unique theatre company.

The night of fun included live music, spoken word and a DJ set by Herald columnist and former Horslips star Eamon Carr.

• 8Radio.com will celebrate its official launch with some drinks and sausage on sticks in Whelan's of Wexford Street on Wednesday.

The new station will launch officially on Good Friday.

8Radio.com is a new multi-format radio station playing a vast range of music from brand new synth-pop to electronica to new wave and vintage post-punk.

• THE City of the Tribes will be the gourmet capital of Ireland for at least a week, thanks to the Galway Food Festival.

Starting on Thursday, the five-day event is a foodie's delight, with cooking demonstrations, wine and craft beer workshops, baking masterclasses, restaurant trails and pop-up food markets at different venues on each day.

• HIT US show The Killing has become available exclusively to Netflix members in the UK and Ireland.

Each episode will be available within one week after its US premiere, making The Killing available to members much sooner than other popular American TV programmes. In addition, beginning on May 2, the complete Season 2 of The Killing will be available for members to watch instantly.
