Bell XI have announced a summer gig at Dublin's Iveagh Gardens on July 13.
The news comes hot on the heels of their NCH Chop Chop Premiere Show selling out and the announcement last week of a Live At The Marquee show in Cork on July 4. Bell X1's new studio album, Chop Chop, was recorded in Connecticut and will also be released on June 28. Tickets go on sale Friday at €35 from www.ticketmaster.ie
• Dublin department store Arnotts are getting ready for the official opening of the Irish Craft Collection.
The launch takes place tonight from 7.30pm-9pm and a host of art lovers and socialites are expected to attend.
The unique craft creations will be opened by Laura Magahy, chairman of the Crafts Council of Ireland as part of the Arnotts' Love Irish Design initiative during March and April. A drinks and canapes reception will greet guests, along with musical entertainment.
• Details of the Dublin Dance Festival, which will run from May 14-26, have just been announced. Among the highlights are a European premiere of former Riverdance supremo Jean Butler's latest show, some of the hottest dance from Australia, Tero Saarinen's Rite of Spring at the Abbey and family-friendly events including activities in Dublin playgrounds – alongside brick-throwing, a pyjama party and a BMX bike ride.
The Dublin Dance Festival is the leading dance event on the Irish arts calendar and the festival will celebrate its ninth year this summer.
• Indie music festival Bushmills Live will return to rock the old Bushmills distillery in 2013. Global sensation Of Monsters and Men will headline the two-day festival – their first ever gig in Northern Ireland. Bushmills Live is a unique two-day event celebrating handcrafted whiskey and music. Following the ground-breaking success of last year's inaugural event, Bushmills Live will take place on the Northern Irish coast on June 19 and 20, 2013.
• After what was by all accounts a stormer of a performance in Whelan's last month, British guitar group Everything Everything will make another visit to our shores in October. The five-piece from Manchester will bring the tour for their second album Arc to The Academy on October 8. Tickets on sale from Friday, price €22.50.
