IT SEEMS like we've barely had a summer -- but things move quickly in the world of fashion. Arnotts will be showcasing its new ladies and menswear collections for autumn/winter with a glitzy fashion show taking place tomorrow morning.

Among those showing off the hottest looks for the coming season will be Sarah Morrissey and Yomiko at a photocall at the Morrison hotel.

Not to be outdone, today sees the launch of River Island's press day at their Grafton Street store. A number of media types have been invited to check out their latest looks for the coming months.

wwwHerald columnist Rosanna Davison was out at the Porterhouse in Bray recently as she enjoyed a drink with pals.

The former Miss World was spotted out there with pals Hayley Rock and designer Dawn Fitzgerald as they checked out a performance by Ryan Sheridan as he kick-started the Bray Summerfest.

Running over the next four weekends until August 6, the festival will take in over 60 musical events alongside a Bray Air Spectacular, a food festival, a family fiesta and an Olympia party.

wwwThe Ebow Gallery on Castle Street will for the venue for the inaugural Experience Hendrix later on this month. An exhibition of Irish fine art photography by Gered Mankowitz, it will open its doors officially on Thursday and is being hailed as a must-see for fans of the late American rocker. As Hendrix's personal photographer, Gered had unprecedented access to the musician and captured some of the most celebrated imagery of the famous guitarist throughout the 1960s.

Running until August 12, there is also the opportunity to buy one of the limited edition pieces, with prices ranging from €750 to €6,000.

The exhibition will also include traditional silver gelatine prints and archive photographs. Formerly called Gallery Number One, the ebow gallery previously hosted shows by such luminaries as Ronnie Wood, Patti Boyd, Bob Dylan and James Rizzi.

wwwThe red carpet will be rolled out at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre tonight for the opening of the Phantom of the Opera.

Among those on the guest list are theatre veterans Gay Byrne and wife Kathleen alongside the newly-engaged Karen Koster, whose boyfriend John McGuire popped the question last week.

Also expected to pop along are Lorraine Keane, Rozanna Purcell, Mairead Farrell, Jenny Buckley, Tony Fenton and Anne Doyle, as well as Miss Ireland Rebecca Maguire.

The longest-running show in Broadway history, it will run in Dublin until August 4 and stars West End pro John Owen-Jones alongside Katie Hall, a finalist in the BBC show I'd Do Anything.
