Temp Head

DUBLIN will be rolling out the red carpet for the country's most famous actors this weekend for the annual Irish Film and Television Awards.

Taking place this Saturday in the convention centre, dozens of Ireland's top stars will be attending. Expected to make an appearance is star of Bridesmaids and nominee for the IFTA Rising Star Award Chris O'Dowd. Also walking down the red carpet will be The Lovely Bones star Saoirse Ronan and actress Amy Huberman.

And top Irish actors Brendan Gleeson, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Farrell are all tipped to be attending, with rumours that Golden Globe nominee Michael Fassbender might be making a surprise appearance.

From the world of television, MTV's Laura Whitmore will be there, along with stars of The Voice, Bressie, Brian Kennedy, Kian Egan and Sharon Corr.

•MISS Ireland Holly Carpenter has followed in the footsteps of models Emma Waldron, Roz Purcell, Glenda Gilson and Georgia Salpa, and has filmed an episode of Republic Of Telly.

The Clontarf beauty queen shot scenes for an upcoming episode on Saturday. The model, who is rumoured to be starring in this year's Celebrity Salon, told the Herald recently that she plans to focus on her modelling career instead of going back to college in September.

•SHE may be eight months pregnant but Una Healy was spotted checking out wedding dresses this weekend.

The Tipperary singer was seen looking at dozens of dresses in a luxury London boutique, but she didn't even attempt to squeeze in to an ivory number with her big baby bump. Instead, the flame-haired beauty held up designer dresses to herself in front of the store's mirror while chatting to a pal.

The Saturdays star is set to give birth in the coming weeks but she still has her big white wedding on her mind. There is no word yet on when Una is set to wed rugby star fiance Ben Foden, but the venue will be Irish.

•LOOKING for something fun to do tonight to kick start your week? The who's who of the Dublin social scene will be out celebrating the launch of Corona Light this evening.

The drinks company is throwing an official launch party for the new product, which only contains 99 calories, tonight. Taking place at The Church, Dublin, guests can enjoy music by Jerry Fish and The Mudbug Club, who will be supported by popular band Bipolar Empire.

•FORMER Wonderland singer Sharon Condon has landed herself a supporting slot with top Irish band Keywest.

The talented Kildare star, who recently joined a band called The Beautiful, will be gigging with the group in The Academy on February 25. Before that she will be supporting Bressie on February 22 when he plays a DJ set at Temple Night Club.
