SAMANTHA MUMBA opted to leave her husband back in America for her one-off Dublin gig over the weekend.
The singer and actress (30) recently celebrated her one-year wedding anniversary with partner Torray Scales, whom she married in LA in February 2012.
But he was a noticeable absentee from her performance at club night FAG Dublin in Andrew's Lane Theatre on Friday night.
She was supported instead by her mum Barbara and brother Omera after telling pals that he had to work.
Sam wasn't missing the opportunity of a good night out go to waste either – she headed into Bucks Townhouse to continue the fun where she met up with pals like Michele McGrath. She said afterwards that she had an "amazing night" and that there was "no place like home." Among those who went to see the Gotta Tell You star strutting her stuff in her skimpy outfit was RTE's Brendan Courtney.
And such was the demand to see the former pop princess performing her first live gig in over three years that people were even turned away.
"It was completely sold out and we turned away hundreds more," said promoter Buzz O'Neill.
"The crowd sang every word of her songs and she stayed behind for two hours getting pictures taken. It was the busiest night the club has ever had."
It was her first foray back into the Dublin spotlight in over a year after treading the boards at the Gaiety Theatre in Christmas panto Robinson Crusoe. She'll spend a few days in Dublin before flying back to LA.
