New parents Jonathan Sexton and his wife Laura are back on Irish shores to show off their bouncing bundle of joy.

The rugby star and his other half welcomed their son Luca on June 28 and are now back in Dublin to introduce their baby boy to family and friends.

Jonny and Laura, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary over the weekend, have been spending some quality time with their child before the international outhalf resumes rugby training for the forthcoming season with his French club Racing Metro.

Making the most of 29-year-old Jonny's limited time off from the pitch, the couple have flown back from their base in Paris and have been catching up with Jonny's old Leinster teammates while in town this week.

Having chosen to give birth overseas, no doubt Jonny and Laura are also excited to meet up with fellow parents Brian O'Driscoll and Amy Huberman. Luca was born early and weighed in at a healthy 7lbs.

Family

Less than three weeks
after their baby's arrival, the family ventured out with their son to enjoy a spot of lunch at Meadows and Byrne in Churchtown on Sunday. The trio
were left undisturbed during their meal by fellow diners.

Laura worked as a secondary school teacher at Loreto on the Green in Dublin before moving to France with her sports star hubby a year ago.

While she'll have her hands full with the baby when Jonny returns to work, she can pick up a few tips from Jessica O'Gara, who now has five kids with Racing Metro kicking coach and retired professional Ronan O'Gara.

Childhood sweethearts Jonny and Laura have been together for 15 years. The loved-up pair first met in Rathgar Tennis Club in Dublin when they were just 13-years-old and tied the knot on July 12 in an intimate ceremony in Adare, Co Limerick.

A string of celebrities attended, including Rob Kearney, Brian O'Driscoll, Leo Cullen and Cian Healy.

Mr and Mrs Sexton packed their bags and moved abroad shortly after saying 'I do'.

They are living in the Parisian suburb of Chatenay-Malabry, just 10km from the bustling French capital, for the duration of Jonny's two-year contract with the high-paying European club.

Although there were reports that Jonny may return to an Irish club, he has said that there is an option of staying on for a third year.
