Siva and the boys to join host of stars for annual childline charity gig in O2

HOT boyband The Wanted will be taking to the stage for this year's Cheerios Childline concert.

The boyband, which features Dublin man Siva Kaneswaran in its line-up, has taken the UK by storm with chart-topping tune All Time Low.

The line-up for this year's concert includes some of the biggest names in pop.

And this year is set to be one of its most impressive yet, with two up-and-coming Irish bands making their high-profile debut.

The much-hyped girlband Wonderland, the latest brainchild of Louis Walsh, will make their biggest performance to date.

All eyes will be on the group, which stars Kian Egan's wife and former Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert, as they tread the boards of the O2 for the first time -- a virtually unheard of feat for a band that has only been on the scene for one year.

Thousands of fans will flock to the O2 arena to see their favourite groups, including Westlife, Shayne Ward and Jason Derulo, to name but a few.

X Factor alumni Olly Murs will also be appearing.

And Nicky Byrne will be double jobbing on December 3 as he is also acting as MC for the event, which intends to raise more than €400,000 for the well-deserving charity this year.

Organisers raised the staggering sum last year and hope to reach the half-million mark with this year's stellar line-up.

The concert has donated more than €3.4 million to Childline since it began in 1997 and has regularly featured some of music's biggest acts stepping out to support the cause.

Childline is experiencing record levels of demand for its services. More than 800,000 calls will be received in 2010 and almost half of those will go unanswered due to lack of resources.

All parties involved with the concert are offering their services free of charge on the night, including bands, organisers and the O2.

"We are delighted to be once again sponsoring the Cheerios Childline Concert, which has, over the past 13 years, become a firm favourite with concert goers of all ages. We look forward to another great night at the O2 on Friday, December 3," said Alison Healy from Cheerios.

Tickets went on sale at 9am this morning. They can be purchased from the usual outlets, including www.ticketmaster.ie.
