No Dublin singers get into Louis' new band

THEY could well be the next One Direction, but not one Dubliner features in the new boyband being primed for stardom by Louis Walsh.

Hundreds of young male singers auditioned for the new group in the Button Factory last May.

But talented Dubs wishing to follow the likes of Ronan Keating, Brian McFadden and Nicky Byrne had their hopes dashed.

"There wasn't one singer from Dublin good enough to get into the band," an insider said. "The guys they have picked are fantastic singers, but all of them are from the country."

A source said four of the final five members of the band have been chosen, with the last to come from a shortlist of three.

But the line-up will not be complete until Walsh (above) returns from the X Factor after Christmas.

The Mayo music mogul has previously spoken of how he found it easier to steer young singers from outside of Dublin to stardom.

"Guys from the country are easier to deal with," he said. "They work harder and have less ego and are more appreciative of success."
