Kathryn attacks rockers for 'riot' lyrics for party
RTE STAR Kathryn Thomas let her 'Voice' be heard at the IFTAs after-party, squaring up to rockers Alabama 3 over their violent lyrics.
The 32-year-old took on the I Blame Kurt Cobain performers on Saturday night following the awards ceremony and quizzed them about the riot-themed tune they belted out at the glitzy bash for the stars.
"They had said something like 'F*** the police and firebomb Dublin like they did London,' and she took offence to that," the Operation Transformation star's spokesperson said.
"From what I can gather she asked them if they though it was right to incite violence.
"One or two people went up to Kathryn and said fair play to her."
Kathryn attended the event with long-term Garda boyfriend Enda Waters.
Celebrity guests at the event, including Kathryn's The Voice co-star Niall Breslin and MTV host Laura Whitmore, watched as Kathryn quizzed the band about their lyrics.
"He was chanting f*** the police and the next thing Kathryn just tears up the stage and takes him on. She said he was inciting hatred and inciting rioters in London," said the source.
The Carlow native turned heads in a stunning grey floor-length gown with a sleek hairdo at the party.
A host of well-known faces walked the red carpet at Saturday's IFTA ceremony, MC'd by Simon Delaney.
Love/Hate actress Ruth Negga flew in from London to collect her gong for Best Actress in a Lead TV Role, while Hollywood's man of the moment Michael Fassbender took home the prize for Best Actor in a Lead Film Role.
