Go faster Strypes as band book jet for New Year's Eve

IRISH band The Strypes will use a private jet to travel between Dublin and Limerick this New Year's Eve.

The Cavan teens have been booked to open the Countdown Concert on New Year's Eve at College Green and Dame Street.

And they will have the job of closing the show later that night at a massive concert in Limerick.

With the two events at opposite ends of the country, band management have the task of getting The Strypes from Dublin to close the show in front of St Mary's Cathedral in Limerick on New Year's Eve.

FINISH

"The Strypes won't finish in Dublin till 9.15pm. Getting down to Limerick in a car would probably take too long," a group insider told the Herald.

"They are going to reach for the sky."

It is expected that the group will arrive in Limerick after singer Dolores O'Riordan counts in the New Year.

And it looks like The Strypes could be doing a lot more air travel in 2014 when they jet out to the US for a short tour with the Herald revealing they have been booked to appear on the Conan O'Brien TV show.

Madness, MKS (the original Sugababes line-up), Ryan Sheridan, and Seo Linn are among the other acts at the open-air concert on College Green which is the official closing event for The Gathering 2013.
