Fans thrilled by Longitude
Longitude left fans longing for more as the massive festival drew to a close last night.
Dance icons The Chemical Brothers played out the epic concert – rounding off a weekend that saw James Blake, Alt-J and Hozier rock some 60,000 hardcore fans.
Model Madeline Mulqueen celebrated her 25th birthday in style by partying with pals at the event.
Presenter Vogue Williams (29) was also snapped at the Heineken Sound Atlas area with friends while rugby stars Jordi Murphy and Jamie Heaslip all enjoyed the cracking tunes.
Jordi (24) was there with his model girlfriend, Laura Finnegan.
Despite the temperamental weather, crowds packed into the Rathfarnham park for the annual festival. Organisers had provided additional security around housing estates in Rathfarnham near to the park following concerns from residents. But most of the attendees were well behaved and were simply enjoying the festivities.
Some of Ireland’s radio and online stars were given quite the makeover at the Desperado’s + Dressing Room.
Jolene Zoe Callahan, top model Roberta Hatton, 98fm DJ Brian Maher, and Spin 1038’s Thomas Crosse were transformed thanks to the stylists and make-up artists. They were drowned in glitter and covered in face paint, feathers and colourful wigs.
Shannon Conlon (18) from Rathfarnham said the “whole weekend was incredible”.
“I’m here with a big group of my friends and we’ve just had the most unbelievable time,” she told the Herald.
“The definite highlight for us was Hozier – we were all crying by the end of his set on Friday because he was so good.”
Knocklyon native Lorraine Doyle (33) said there was a “great crowd” and she got to see lots of new bands.
“We spent a lot of time at the TXFM stage and at the Heineken Sound Atlas area which were really cool,” she said.
“I loved getting to see lots of new bands at the Whelan’s stage as well. We’ve just had a ball and what better way to finish off than with The Chemical Brothers.”
