Louis gives Cheryl's beau thumbs up

AFTER a rocky road Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh are finally on good terms again.

Rumours that the feuding pair would clash in the upcoming season of the X Factor have been dismissed by the music mogul.

"We're getting on really well now," he insisted.

He said that the spat started when he was managing the Geordie singer in Girls Aloud.

"At one stage I said that Nadine Coyle was the best singer in the band because I really believed that," he revealed.

But his favouritism toward the Irish band member didn't sit well with Cheryl.

Louis isn't about to take back the high praise for Derry starlet Nadine however.

"Of course the other girls didn't want to hear that - but it's probably true," he said.

Meanwhile, Cheryl's new man is a good influence on her according to Louis.

"He seems to be a very good influence on her. She seems to have calmed down a lot and seems really happy with her life," he said of his fellow judge.

Stunning Cheryl wed her restaurateur beau Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini after just a three month whirlwind romance.

Speculation about the pair's blossoming relationship spurred the Crazy in Love singer to confirm on Twitter that they had tied the knot secretly earlier this month.

Louis got to know him pretty well when he turned up at the early auditions to spend time with Cheryl and the Frenchman earned his seal of approval.

"He's a nice guy," declared Louis.

Meanwhile, it seems that the outspoken manager will have no need to pick favourites with his new boy-band Hometown.

"I went for singers this time," he admitted and added that "I picked the six best singers. I think they're incredibly vocal".

Shane Filan and Mark Feehily were the strongest voices in Westlife he admitted.

"They were the outstanding singers of the band," he said.

He is confident that the music industry is ready for another Irish offering.

"There is always a gap for another band," he noted.

The group have just signed with Sony record label RCA and they will travel to Sweden soon to begin recording their new album.
