irish voice beats uk hands down
WE'RE back filming the fourth season of The Voice of Ireland in October and even though RTE doesn't have the big budget like they do for the UK version, I still think ours is more fun.
Don't get my wrong, I really like the UK show, but for all its bling it can be a little sterile.
Their coaches are amazingly talented and all that, but it's more serious.
I like we've freedom to mess around a bit and do funny dance numbers or give Kathryn Thomas a smooch on stage, so to me that's our big strength.
We really do hold our own, in my view.
I'm looking forward to getting back in studio with Kian Egan, Bressie and Jamelia (inset) and collectively we're going to keep pushing to make the show better.
I don't know what's happening with the final judge's spot though, or if Dolores O'Riordan will sign up for another season.
Either way, they're great people to work with and last year was the best series yet by a long shot.
And for all their bickering on screen, Kian and Bressie do in fact get along. It's friendly all round.
