I will never run for job in politics, vows Claire Byrne
She spends her evenings grilling TDs and ministers on TV but Claire Byrne has no desire to swap the studio for a seat in Leinster House.
The Claire Byrne Live host claims to have no political ambitions whatsoever.
"Absolutely none," Byrne told the Herald. "It's not something I would ever be interested in.
"I never have had or will have any political ambitions. I could never understand why someone would choose that as a life."
The rumour mill went into overdrive earlier this year when it was suggested Miriam O'Callaghan was interested in running for the Presidency. "I will never stand for any political office," Byrne said. "And you can quote that back to me."
Byrne was speaking at the inaugural Tiffany Ireland Funds Lunch to honour Inspiring women. Loretta Glucksman Brennan was honoured at the event.
