Horgan flying high as her new series nears air date
It's good news for Irish comedian Sharon Horgan as the official trailer for her upcoming US series Divorce has hit screens.
The highly anticipated show stars Sarah Jessica Parker as Frances, a woman who suddenly begins to reassess her life and her marriage, and finds that making a clean break and a fresh start is harder than she thought.
The former Sex and the City star brings up the dreaded topic of divorce to her husband Robert in the hope that they can "go back to just liking each other again".
The trailer sees the unhappy couple's dysfunctional relationship played out in their home as well as a glimpse into their marriage counselling where viewers here Robert has "emotionally" cheated on Parker's character.
Meath native Horgan has previously shared snippets of the series, which has been picked up by HBO for a ten-episode first season.
The Catastrophe star is set to be involved in the production every step of the way and will serve as an executive producer.
Although a date has yet to be set, the series is expected to air within the coming weeks as it was previously confirmed it would have a summer premiere.
Horgan - a sister of former Irish rugby star Shane Horgan - was inspired to write the series when she took a look at the big industry surrounding divorces.
"I thought, there's a great show in there," she said.
