Garvey admits nerves poking fun at pal Amy

WITH friends like these, who needs enemies? She used to be one of Amy Huberman's closest college pals - but actress Lisa Garvey is now impersonating 'The Hubes' on RTE's sketch show Callan's Kicks.

Garvey attended UCD around the same time as Huberman (pictured) and said it feels "a little bizarre" playing a giggling and girly Mrs BOD.

The duo, along with Moone Boy star Chris O'Dowd, were committed members of the Drama Society.

"We did loads of theatre shows," Garvey told the Herald. "I think we spent most of our lives in the Drama Soc
building."

In one of the comedy sketches, Amy (Garvey) and Brian O'Driscoll (Oliver Callan) chat about their home life, BOD's impressive biceps and their love of all things Leinster.

Amy also discusses her passion for writing while struggling to open and turn on a laptop.

nervous

Ever the pro, Garvey emailed Huberman before filming kicked off to tell her she would be sending her up on the show.

"You get a bit nervous when there is a connection there but she was lovely. Amy has a great sense of humour."

It's not the first time Garvey has poked fun at one of her friends or colleagues; she works as a Production Assistant on Saturday Night with Miriam and regularly impersonates the 'wonder-mum'.

"I would finish working on Miriam's show on Saturday and would be in the radio building the following morning pretending to be her.

"Radio was great because I could remain faceless. I could do impersonations and no one would know it was me.

"Now my face is on screen, I've let the cat out of the bag. I'll have to watch my back in the RTE canteen," she joked.
