THE original Jersey Boys are set to perform on Irish shores, just weeks after the world famous musical opens here.

Legendary American group Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons have revealed that they will play a one-off concert in Dublin this summer.

Shooting to fame in the 60s, the band racked up hit after hit, including classics such as Big Girls Don't Cry, Oh What a Night and Walk Like A Man.

The band will perform in the 3Arena on July 8 as part of their European tour.

However, it was the legendary musical Jersey Boys that proved vital to the band's long-lived success.

The band's colourful history is the inspiration for the massively successful show, which is coming to Ireland for the first time ever this spring.

Jersey Boys, which originally opened on Broadway 10 years ago, is set to open in Dublin's Bord Gais Theatre in April.

Tickets for Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons go on sale on Friday at 9am from www.ticketmaster.ie and usual outlets.
