No Fifty Shades for Jamie on Valentine's
He might be the star of the film, but Jamie Dornan won't be watching Fifty Shades of Grey this Valentine's Day.
The Northern Irish actor plays Christian Grey in the movie based on the mega-selling book by EL James, but he won't be watching it on its release date with his wife Amelia Warner.
"We don't usually make a big deal out of Valentine's Day, my wife and I. We won't be going to see the film," Jamie admitted.
However, the star (32) said he does hope he is "the closest thing" to the Christian Grey in the books.
When asked if he had lived up to James' fantasies, the former male model said it was quite the challenge.
"Nobody can walk in and embody what she wants. It doesn't exist," he said.
"But I hope I'm the closest thing. I hope I'm a good enough actor and it's passable."
The dad of one also said that although the film is sexual, he does not believe it is pornographic or even erotic.
"It's sexual, of course it's sexual. I personally don't think it's pornographic. I think there'll be a few things in the movie that you don't get very often, which I think is a good thing," he said. "I think it's cool that people will go to the cinema and experience something they haven't seen on screen before.
"I just wouldn't use the word 'erotic' - it brings up different ideas for me. I just think we tried to make a good picture, you know?"
Jamie is also dismissive of rumours that there is a lack of chemistry between him and Dakota Johnson who plays Anastasia Steele.
"I have never, ever had a job where you've not done re-shoots," he told a Sunday magazine.
