ACTRESS Amy Huberman will be hitting the big screen shortly after her new thriller received a release date.
The wife of rugby star Brian O'Driscoll scooped the Best Actress accolade at the IFTAs last month playing the lead role in Irish flick Rewind.
And now her movie, which was PJ Dillon's directorial debut, will be released across Ireland on March 25.
Telling the story of a married woman whose life is thrown into turmoil when an old boyfriend turns up unexpectedly to reveal all about her hidden past, there's no word yet if the film will be shown in Dublin.
The movie originally screened at the Galway Film Fleadh last October and sees Amy taking on the part of Karen, a former drug user.
The former Clinic star said she was thrilled to have picked up an award for her part in the low-budget movie.
"It was a real challenge for me to play such a gritty character. It's very gratifying to see the film get recognition at the IFTAs, and I'm so excited that people all over the country will have a chance to see the film when it opens this month," she said.
Accepting the award at the glitzy bash in the Spencer Dock last month, she said it was "fantastic" to have got the accolade as the entire cast and crew worked so hard.
"It was a labour of love for all of us," she said. She went on to thank her famous husband, saying he was "always so supportive" of everything she did.
Busy Amy has also starred in A Film With Me In It, and has recently wrapped filming a leading role opposite Fionnula Flanagan entitled Three Wise Women.
Last year she also made her literary debut after writing her first book Hello Heartbreak, which went on to become a best-selling hit.
