Former Fair City star Eoin Macken is set to join Natalie Dormer from Game of Thrones in an upcoming Japanese thriller.
The Forest looks at the horrors of Japan's Aokigahara forest at the base of Mount Fuji, which an infamous spot for suicides.
It tells the story of a young American woman, played by Dormer, who goes in search of her twin sister who has mysteriously disappeared. Despite everyone's warnings to "stay on the path," Sara enters the forest determined to figure out what happened to her sister but is confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead.
It is not yet known what part Macken will play in the film but he confirmed yesterday that he will jetting to Serbia in two weeks to start filming.
The movie is scheduled for release in the US on January 8, 2016.
Meanwhile, Macken is currently on our screens in medical series The Night Shift, which is airing on RTE2.
He plays Dr TC Callahan, the leader of a group of army soldiers who have returned home to work in a Texas emergency department.
"Filming can be quite intense - we usually do 12 or 14-hour days, and on Thursdays and Fridays we end up shooting nights," he told the Nicky Byrne Show on 2fm.
"It ruins your weekend because you end up shooting till 4am on Friday night.
"Shooting is quite quick on this and I end up being in every day. On a movie you could have six or seven hours doing nothing, whereas this is intense, but it's fun," he added.
