Fifty Shades of red as director Sam Taylor-Johnson tells of rows with author
Fifty Shades Of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson has told of the fiery arguments she had with EL James about bringing her raunchy novels to the big screen.
The artist turned film-maker admitted she had creative differences with the best-selling author, whose books have won legions of fans around the world.
She told Porter magazine: "It was difficult, I'm not going to lie. We definitely fought - but they were creative fights and we would resolve them.
"We would have proper on-set barneys. It was about finding a way between the two of us, satisfying her vision of what she'd written as well as my need to visualise this person on screen."
Angelina Jolie (inset) was previously linked to Fifty Shades Of Grey, which stars Irish actor Jamie Dornan, with reports that she was preparing to direct it.
Taylor-Johnson said: "I got an email from Angelina saying good luck on your journey. I thought that was sweet of her."
