Domhnall Gleeson to star with Tom Cruise in blockbuster
Domhnall Gleeson has been confirmed to star alongside Tom Cruise in a US blockbuster.
The Star Wars actor is set to work with the movie legend on new flick Mena.
The film, which will be directed by Doug Linam, follows Barry Seal (Tom Cruise), a Trans World Airways (TWA) pilot recruited by the CIA to provide recon on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America.
Seal finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the US, one that spawned the birth of the Medellin cartel and eventually almost brought down the Reagan White House through the Iran Contra scandal.
Along with the Mission Impossible star, the Malahide native will act alongside Jesse Plemons, who is best known for his role as Todd Alquist in cult US series Breaking Bad.
Last month it was reported that Domhnall, whose father is acting great Brendan Gleeson, was in talks to star in the film.
Production is underway on the movie and it is due to be released in January 2017.
The flame-haired star has more than enough to keep him busy beforehand, as he prepares for two of his films to hit cinemas later this year.
