Film: Ninja Assassin * *

The title tells you pretty much all you need to know here and even though the opening sequence showing a Yakuza gang being butchered is reasonably exciting (although when there are beheadings and people having their faces sliced off in the first three minutes there's really no where left to go after that), the film becomes daft, repetitive and downright nonsensical.

The plot involves a renegade ninja (South Korean pop star Rain) out for revenge on the clan who trained him as a boy and helping agents of 'Europol' to put a stop to a series of assassinations.

There are some impressive moves until the CGI takes over and the whole shebang descends into bloody farce with body parts flying everywhere and any semblance of a proper story long since forgotten. HHIII - GB
