Comedian Maeve Higgins' stars on Amy Schumer's show
She shot to fame on Irish sketch show Naked Camera and now Maeve Higgins' star looks to be rising fast Stateside as she appeared on US comic Amy Schumer's TV show this week.
The homegrown comedian (34) showed up on the A-lister's popular Comedy Central show, Inside Amy Schumer, in a hilarious sketch called Doggy Daycare about women who treat their dogs as their kids.
The Cork native made the move to New York almost 18 months ago and has seen her career go from strength to strength since.
Speaking to the Diary recently, Maeve revealed she has no plans to return home anytime soon.
"I love it over there. It's a great city to do comedy in," she said.
"Maybe I will come back at some stage, but at the moment I'm happy.
"I just got a new visa for the next three years and I have a regular show over there, so it's brilliant."
The sketch show star, who is also a writer, added that she has a new book in the pipeline.
"I'm writing a book of funny essays and New York is a great place to write in. I like stand-up but I really love writing," she said.
