Supporting one of your favourite pop stars is an honour most budding musicians can only dream of.
However, the dream comes true tonight for Dubliner Louise Cunnane (29) when she sings on the same stage as Ellie Goulding at The Marquee festival in Cork.
The Stoneybatter woman, who performs under the name Blooms, said it hadn't been an easy journey.
"I first started writing songs at 11 and recorded my first demo at 17," she told the Herald. "But I was so shy and scared of performing that I gave it up and worked in promotions for years."
Her project, Blooms, is a collaboration with multiple producers.
"Blooms is my idea, but I have a great team around me.
"It is tough, but when bigger gigs come up it feels like your hard work is paying off.
"I'm hoping I get to meet Ellie. Maybe I can be her tour guide."
