You might think Bressie's hot but don't vote for that
BRESSIE has urged fans of The Voice of Ireland not to vote for his acts just because they think he's hot.
The singer-songwriter, who has developed a strong female following since the show started thanks to his charm, said that he hoped viewers would support his acts because of their singing talent and not for other reasons
"Kian is an issue because he has big followers from Westlife," he said.
"I don't want people to vote for me if they think a singer isn't good enough, and hopefully they won't do that for Kian either."
The former Blizzards frontman remarked that Kian would probably be his biggest competition on the popular RTE show.
"Kian has an automatic followship and he also has two singers who have it -- who are worldclass," he said, adding: "Brian is also a dark horse."
This weekend, the four coaches -- Bressie, Kian, Brian and Sharon Corr -- will continue to select the candidates they wish to bring to the live shows based on their performance in the battle round. Bressie (31) admitted while the difficult selection process was nearly over, the contest would only become tougher next month.
"We have to sing and play with the other coaches. It's a case of us all having to get up there and practice what we preach and anything could go wrong really," he admitted.
"I do feel like I should be in my element in the live shows through -- that's where I get great energy and it's kind of the thing that I pride myself on."
He added: "I think the live shows will be tough, though, when you have to tell people they aren't going any further --that's going to be pretty hard to be honest."
The Dublin-born singer suggested that four coaches would be less melodramatic than their X Factor counterparts.
"We're not like Kelly Rowland," he said. "There is no snots and bawling, that's contrived. I wouldn't be a fan of that. I'm not a crier. "
