Wexford is still home for Kevin and wife Jenny

IT'S something of a running theme for Irish footballers as Jenny Harney is another teenage sweetheart.

But unlike most WAGs, Jenny's eyes didn't meet the eyes of future husband Kevin Doyle across a crowded nightclub.

Instead, they met at the National Ploughing Championships when they were both 16.

The couple are both from Wexford - Jenny is from Wellingtonbridge and Kevin is from Killurin.

Jenny works in industrial design and tends to shun the limelight.

Wolves and Ireland striker Kevin popped the question to Jenny in London and they had their day in the sun two years ago in Adare, Co Limerick. Some 180 guests attended including Kevin's Ireland team-mates Shane Long, Paul McShane, Stephen Kelly and Stephen Hunt.

Although Kevin is based across the Irish Sea, the couple's heart remains in Wexford.

Two years ago, Kevin got planning permission to build the home of their dreams there, and plans for a nursery were attached.

The mansion will be built on land owned by the Doyle family in Killurin.

Perhaps the couple will be thinking of a permanent move home when Kevin retires - his parents run a restaurant there and his brother manages a pub.
