FASHION designer Vera Wang, best known for the sumptuous wedding gowns so popular with celebrities, and her husband Arthur Becker are to separate.
A statement from company President Mario Grauso to Women's Wear Daily earlier this week said Wang and Becker "mutually and amicably agreed to separate."
The couple married in 1989, when Wang worked for Ralph Lauren. They have two daughters.
Wang's business has grown to include high-end runway collections, household goods and a mass-consumer line at Kohl's. But she is best known for her bridal gowns. Chelsea Clinton, Alicia Keys and Ivanka Trump have walked down the aisle in Vera Wang designs.
It is unknown how the split will affect Wang's business, but an unidentified friend of the designer's has said the couple "will not let this impact the running of the company. They have worked too hard to build it up."
In 2006 Wang told New York Magazine. "I was the girl who nobody thought would ever get married. I was going to be a fashion nun the rest of my life. Anna [Wintour] said, 'You have got to get a family going here. You've been single for three decades now.' So I got married."
