Walliams and wife take Dublin break after health scare

LITTLE BRITAIN star David Walliams has jetted into Dublin, as he dismisses rumours that he has undergone tests for Weil's disease.

The comic was spotted out and about in Dublin with his supermodel wife Lara Stone last night, after rejecting reports that he is worried about contracting the deadly waterborne disease.

Speculation has been mounting over the star's health since he completed a charity swim earlier this month. It was reported that he was undergoing hospital tests after catching a bug -- which could lead to Weil's disease -- in the water.

Walliams (40) swam an epic 140-mile long challenge up the River Thames to raise over €1m for Sport Relief. He suffered from back pain, sickness and diarrhoea during his swim.

Walliams was forced to cancel a scheduled public appearance last Saturday, further fuelling speculation.

However representatives of the funnyman have dismissed any claims that he is ill.

A statement from Comic Relief was released yesterday which said: "Comic Relief understands that David has contracted a bug that has caused a stomach upset.

"He is being treated for this and has been advised by medical professionals that it is not serious and that he will soon be back to full health. David has not been tested for Weil's disease."

And the TV star seems determined to quash any ongoing rumours, by taking his supermodel wife Lara out on the town in Dublin.

Blazer

Walliams sported a shirt and blazer as he strolled through the Irish capital with his catwalk queen yesterday and appeared calm and content.

The model has been supporting her man over the past few weeks since the ordeal and looked chic donning a short black dress as she enjoyed the warm weather. The loved-up pair married in a lavish wedding ceremony at London's Claridge's Hotel in 2010.

The comedian was greeted by Lara as he reached the end of his epic swim, who tweeted her excitement for her handsome hubby. "He really is flying -- so proud."
