Voice reject's son Sam heads for film stardom

HIS father didn't quiet make TV stardom on The Voice but actor Sam Keeley is set for an even bigger stage.

The 22-year-old is the son of singer/ songwriter Brendan Keeley, who is best known for his 1995 hit, I'll Always Be Lonely.

Brendan resurrected his career on The Voice Of Ireland last year, but now it is his son who is on target for fame. Sam, inset, will take on a starring role in the sequel to critically acclaimed sci-fi horror Monsters.

The Offaly man, who is best known for his TV roles in Misfits and Irish kitchen drama Raw, will follow in the footsteps of his What Richard Did co-star Jack Reynor, who is also carving out a path to Hollywood.

Like Jack, who was cast in Transformers Four, Monsters: Dark Continent is a special-effects blockbuster set to propel the young to international stardom.

Sam, who is based in London, will star alongside Game Of Thrones star Joe Dempsie in the sci-fi thriller.

The first Monsters movie focused on the aftermath of an alien invasion.
