Viewers text in fat jibes on what I wear on TV -- Anna

TV3 star Anna Daly has revealed that viewers constantly text in to complain about her outfits, her weight or suggest she get her roots done.

The 33-year-old Ireland AM presenter may have a reputation for being one of the country's most stylish women, but that doesn't mean she's exempt to criticism from viewers.

And she admitted she was genuinely taken aback when viewers would text or email in to critique her look in the morning.

"I do feel pressure to look good on TV, it would be very hard to deny that it's important to look your best on air," she said.

"People are very critical ... I mean, if you need your roots done...or they'll tell you you're looking a bit fat.

"And at the start, I was like, 'Jesus, what are people like?' I just couldn't believe that people would bother or that people would be so straight or so mean."

However, the marketing exec turned TV star said she has to take the negative comments on the chin and is more concerned about her work than her appearance.

"But then, in saying that, with every one negative comment comes 50 lovely compliments.

"I think what's much more important really is people's feedback on the content of what you're talking about," she added.

Meanwhile, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, Anna admitted she is hoping hubbie Ben will treat her to a romantic surprise.

"We probably will go away for a night or two somewhere as a little treat," she told Woman's Way magazine.

"He also knows the way to my heart -- chocolate, bubbly and a good meal."

And while Anna has often been deemed the perfect fit for a presenting slot on Xpose, she said she is happy where she is.
