Twink's phone show is put on hold
FANS of Adele King, aka Twink, will have to wait at least another six months to see her return to the small screen with her new TV3 show.
The station announced at its autumn schedule launch last year that the panto veteran had been given her own show dispensing advice to the nation's troubled souls.
But although no mention was made of the programme at TV3's spring schedule launch last week, the Diary has learned that the programme it still very much on the cards. A station insider explained it would be filmed in TV3's new €4m, 500sqm studio which will be situated in an adjacent building at its Ballymount base.
But construction work won't be finished on the building until at least August.
"It's still a runner but we have to wait until the new studio is finished to do any more work on it," she said.
Provisionally called Give Adele A Bell, it will see Twink, right, dispensing her gems of wisdom and advice to viewers in need of help.
TV3's director of programming Ben Frow convinced her to come on board with her own show after seeing her memorable performance on Celebrity Head Chef, which she eventually won under the tutoring of controversial chef Conrad Gallagher.
The separated mum-of-two previously wrote an advice column for a magazine for 10 years and said she would be drawing on her wealth of life experience to help other people with their problems.
