Time to lighten up, Kathryn tells Dr Eva
Operation Transformation host Kathryn Thomas has been banned from socialising with contestants.
The RTE star was given a firm reprimand by nutritionist Dr Eva after she encouraged team leader Sinead Heffernan to drink wine last week.
The night out resulted in a defiant rebuttal by Kathryn who felt the expert was being unfair.
The Winning Streak co-host said: "We had a bit of a laugh. I don't regret it at all.
"You know it was what it was, as I said, she needs to lighten up a little bit.
"I've been banned [from socialising with show participants]. She [Sinead] was lucky she didn't end up on Leeson Street for a night out.
"The cheek of her [Dr Eva], giving out to me, just for having a few glasses of wine," she laughed.
However, Kathryn is adamant that there are no hard feelings between her and Dr Eva.
"She's there to do her job as well and I respect that," Kathryn said. "I mean, if you're able to have a go at somebody and I'm able to have a go right back at her, then you know it's OK.
"I really admire her because she never minces her words.
"She's brilliant, we have a good laugh together."
The Carlow-born host says she loves her new role on the small screen and was thrilled when the series walked away with the title of Best Factual programme at last Saturday night's glitzy IFTAs.
Kathryn turned heads in a full-length gown by Tipperary designer Marion Murphy Cooney, explaining that she felt it was important to support Irish designers during the recession.
She said former Xpose frontwoman Lorraine Keane first brought the designer's creations to her attention.
