The Westbury Hotel will be the venue for a stylish bash on Friday to launch a new label.
Maria Fusco is helping to organise it and all the usual social suspects will be out in force for the unveiling of the Scarlet 4 fashion (S4F) brands, which scouts for unique new labels to introduce to the Irish market.
The event will give those working in the fashion industry the chance to network with stylists, make-up and hair companies, buyers and style lovers.
The event will also see S4F launching five fashion brands, including Gabriela Rigamonti jewellery and Campomaggi.
•Rubyworks, an independent Irish record label, will be celebrating 10 years in the business next month with a very special treat.
They have just announced three one-off shows to mark the anniversary. On Sunday, August 26, the Olympia will be the venue for a show that includes Ryan Sheridan and Rodrigo y Gabriela. The following day Fight Like Apes and The Minutes will take to the stage at Whelan's of Wexford Street, with other names on the bill including the LA-based Deap Vally. On Tuesday, August 28, the event will move to Doyle's for a celebratory Ruby Sessions with an array of talent and a donation at the door to the Simon Community. Tickets go on sale on Friday.
•There's just a few days left until the Galway Race Festival gallops into action with plenty of familiar faces heading west for a flutter. Kicking off on Monday and running for the entire week, there will be no shortage of action happening on and off the track for attendees.
This year sees Ladies Day taking place on Thursday, August 2. Putting the well-dressed ladies through their paces will be Herald columnist Rosanna Davison alongside editor Patricia McCrossan, from Galway Now, and Mandy Maher, from Catwalk model agency.
