Star Nadine goes solo after split from fiance

NADINE Coyle has officially gone solo.

The Irish pop singer (25) has revealed that she and her fiance, former American footballer Jason Bell (32), have split after two years together.

And while the pair broke up several weeks ago after some "soul searching", they managed to keep it under wraps until now.

"The engagement is off and we're going our separate ways," Nadine said. "Of course I'm upset, but Jason and I have done a lot of soul searching and we know this is for the best.

"A few weeks ago, Jason and I broke up. We are great friends and decided we are better this way.

"I'm in NYC working and I love all your support. Aside from that, I am having a wonderful time with friends here," she said.

The high-profile couple were often snapped at red-carpet events and were rarely away from each other's sides.

Yet despite a surprise proposal last September, they decided to call it quits.

However, Coyle has fully embraced single life and jetted in to NYC from her adopted home of Los Angeles to party with pals in some of Manhattan's most exclusive haunts.

The skinny singer explained that she was soaking up the atmosphere at the Boom Boom Room, The Standard Hotel, One Oak and the members-only club SoHo House Rooftop in her whirlwind week.

Coyle previously said that she was surprised by her other half getting down on bended knee, saying: "He was acting really weird but it was nice. So I knew it wasn't far away, to be honest, but when he actually asked me it came as a huge surprise because it was first thing in the morning."

Coyle moved to California in 2008 along with her family in a bid to kick off her singing career Stateside, but is now focusing her efforts on her pub, Nadine's Irish Mist, in Sunset Beach.

Girls Aloud, meanwhile, are due to celebrate their 10th anniversary next year, after a break where each of the members were taking time out to concentrate on their solo careers, but all five girls are set to take part in the reunion.

However, the Derry native has been battling a string of obstacles in recent months.

It was revealed that her pub owed local tax authorities almost €30,000 and her solo debut had a lukewarm reception.
