Schoolgirl takes London Fashion Week by storm
THIS may be her London Fashion Week debut, but Danielle Winckworth is working it like a pro.
In spite of the fact that she is only 16 years old, the up-and-coming model stormed the catwalk on Saturday afternoon when she made her debut for John Rocha.
The Bray schoolgirl, who is balancing a career on the catwalk with life in the classroom, has exploded on the scene since being signed to Morgan the Agency last October.
And these pictures show exactly why she is so in demand.
Despite her young age, the blonde beauty is the consummate professional, and fitted in perfectly with her supermodel colleagues on the runway at the weekend.
Although it was her first time doing such a high-profile job, the teenager didn't let nerves get the better of her and she rocked her quirky runway get-up with the grace of someone who has been on the catwalk for years.
The Irish designer handpicked Danielle to participate in his fashion show and she spent the past number of weeks working alongside him in the run-up to his highly anticipated showing.
While she may be one of the biggest commodities to hit the homegrown fashion industry, school comes first for the bright teen, who is currently studying at St Gerard's School in Bray.
Jacqui Turner of Morgan the Agency told the Herald that since she signed on its books last year, Danielle has received an enormous amount of international interest, and has just signed to an agency in Paris.
"They certainly want her to go over, but because she has braces, she is slightly limited with regards to travelling," Jacqui said.
"She has taken off so well, but we are cautious of sending her abroad too early."
Jacqui explained that Danielle's first priority is to finish school before embarking on a full-time career.
"She's stunning, absolutely amazing. Agencies abroad will often look here in Ireland for girls, and now about 90pc of the inquiries are about her," she said.
