Potter star Radcliffe reveals his love for Dublin
HARRY Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has revealed his love for Dublin, saying it is "very close to my heart".
The famous actor, worth an estimated €45m, spent several months here last summer while filming My Boy Jack.
"That was one of the best summers of my life - got to work with Kim Cattrall and Carey Mulligan on an incredible story and I got to spend a lot of time in Ireland, which was great as my girlfriend at the time was from there," he said.
In good news for his Irish fans, the star (22) clearly has a soft spot for girls from the Fair City, judging by his previous form. While filming for the TV drama about Rudyard Kipling's son Jack, he was dating Irish actress Laura O'Toole, best known for GAA drama On Home Ground.
Speaking about the romance, he told the Dubliner: "I'd just started seeing my girlfriend at that stage, so she loved showing me around the city.
"My girlfriend before that was Irish too, so she'd brought me to Dublin and around the west coast.
"I'm such a tourist when I'm there. I love the Guinness Brewery and St Stephen's Green. And the pubs, how much fun are your pubs? I've probably had some of the worst hangovers of my life there."
Radcliffe will now be taking on an entirely different role in new film The Woman In Black, which sees him playing a young lawyer sent to the spooky surrounds of Eel Marsh House.
