Paint me purple, please - models are made up

NAKED bodies covered with paint – this designer bodypainting exhibition is out of this world.

A DUBLIN-BASED law lecturer organised Ireland's weird and wonderful annual Bodypainting Competition.

The theme was Alien Knowledge and make-up artists, models and nude exhibitionists were eager to show off their work.

Purple painted cosmic babes chatted to lizard men, while women with grand piano keys coming out of their cheekbones posed for the cameras at Exchange Dublin.

Now in its second year, organiser Roslyn Fuller (32) said the competition is going from strength to strength. "Lots more people wanted to compete this year," Canadian-born Rosalyn said. "We want to see their interpretation of the theme and their technical skill and ability.

"I used to model at the World Body Painting Comp-etition in Austria, it's a hard job." The contest has two categories – body painting and face painting.

The face painting theme was Music of the Mind which make-up artist Michelle Anderson won for her work, Entwined Melody.

Orlagh Gilsenan bagged the top prize for her Alien Goddess.

Rosalyn judged the contestants work with the help of Raquel Guirro, a Spanish body painter who worked on the Oscar-winning Pan's Labyrinth.
